Job Description:

Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) is seeking to hire a Level III Operations and Maintenance Technician. This candidate will operate, control, monitor, and maintain equipment related to the production and delivery of electrical power in a 300 MW Simple cycle CT power plant. Equipment includes Gas Turbine Generators, High Voltage Switch gear, and Auxiliary Equipment (pumps, etc.). Duties include inside and outside operating activities, documentation, and performs electrical switching operations of switch gear up to 345KV.

  • Supports and participates in safety committee program.
  • Adheres to the Plant Manager’s Standing Orders.
  • Understands, supports and follows the safety guidelines and procedures that have been set by management and the CAMS corporate office.
  • Maintain work areas, housekeeping assignments and required tool inventories.
  • Understands, supports and follows CAMS Handbook and memorandums.
  • Maintain positive professional attitude, professional behavior, establish and maintain productive work relationships with all co-workers at all time.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of plant operation, operator log sheets, safety check sheets, and other reporting as necessary.
  • Train other employees in efficient and safe operation of facility.
  • Communicate to facility management as necessary.
  • Prepare environmental, safety, and other compliance reports.
  • Participate in the plant budget preparation.
  • Maintains current technical level and re-qualifications as deemed by management.
  • Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required, and is subject to callout and overtime.
  • Must be multi-task oriented with ability to make expeditious appropriate decisions to non-routine plant operating situations.

Experience and Skills:


  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus minimum five years related experience.
  • Driving on company business is a requirement and the incumbent shall have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Technical - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings. Proficient computer skills
  • Problem Solving - Ability to detect, diagnose, and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Management - Ability and initiative to complete operations tasks with minimum supervision
  • External Relationships - Ability to communicate with internal and external technical resources, suppliers and customers in a professional manner.
  • Physical - Ability to climb, lift, bend and reach; lift 50 lbs.; good balance and ability to work on elevated platforms.
